JOSH LANGLEY STEPS UP TO PLAYER-ASSISTANT ROLE!
Northwich Victoria are delighted to announce that central defender Josh Langley has committed to the Trickies for the upcoming season, stepping up into a dual player-assistant role on Lee Duckworth's management team.
Langley joined the Vics partway through last season from Nantwich Town and made an immediate impact at the heart of the defence. He featured 18 times for the club, forming a formidable and rock-solid defensive partnership alongside Harry Davis and Matt Harrison, and netted his first goal for the club in an away fixture at Studley.
By stepping into the backroom staff while remaining registered as a player, "Langers" will provide a fantastic, vital link between the dressing room and the dugout this season.
"An Easy Decision"
Manager Lee Duckworth praised Langley’s elite professionalism and experience, noting that bringing him onto the coaching staff was a natural next step.
"Langers came in last season and his professionalism was top drawer," Duckworth said. "He’s been looking to move into the management side and so it was an easy decision to bring him on board.
He’s great with the lads and has a wealth of experience at good levels within the game. He’ll play an important part on and off the field, so delighted to have him with us."
"Beyond The Level"
Speaking to the Vics media team, Josh expressed his excitement about developing his coaching career at a club that has impressed him from day one.
"Since I came in partway through last season, I’ve enjoyed everything about the club," Langley revealed. "The supporters, committee, players, and management team were brilliant with me.
It’s no secret I’ve been looking to get some experience on the management side, so when Ducko discussed it with me, I jumped at it. The professionalism around the place has been well beyond the level and gives us something to build on. I’m looking forward to working with Ducko and the rest of the management team to learn, but also to get my point of view and experience across."
