Northwich Victoria are thrilled to confirm the signing of commanding centre-back Corey Morgan ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Corey joins the club from Step 7, making a significant two-division leap – but he’s already shown he's more than ready for the challenge. A natural fit during pre-season, Morgan has caught the eye of the management team with his confident, no-nonsense defending and maturity beyond his years at the heart of the backline.
The 24-year-old has previously played for Ashville and Winstanley Warriors, building a strong foundation before stepping into the semi-professional ranks with the Vics.
Speaking after signing, Corey said:
“I’m so excited to sign for a club like Northwich with so much history in non-league. To be given the chance to play two leagues up is something I’m very grateful for from the manager. Even though I’ve been mainly playing Step 7, I’m determined to kick on now and play as high as I can. Lee and Luke’s training has been quality and all the lads have welcomed me in. I knew the type of football they would be playing from when I played against them in a mid-season friendly.”
Manager Lee Duckworth praised Corey’s early impact and potential:
“Corey came in pre-season on the recommendation of Hayden (Scout). His attitude and application have been top class. He’s a fully committed defender who’s consistently looking to learn and improve. He’s comfortable on the ball and is excellent in defending one-v-one. I look forward to watching him settle at Step 5 and push on.”
A strong addition to the Vics' defensive unit, Corey’s hunger and determination will no doubt make him a fan favourite in no time.
Welcome to Northwich Victoria, Corey!
