Vics completed the double over League leaders Winsford Utd with an excellent 3 - 0 victory over their Mid-Cheshire rivals.

Vics got off to a dream start as George Nugent sped down the right and crossed to the far post where Joe Duckworth slammed the ball past Ryan Brown in the Winsford net to give Vics the early lead. Winsford then had a half chance to reply quickly as McGeady and Kieran Brown combined well to feed O’Mara but his shot from the edge of the area span wide of the goal. Will Bentley then crashed a curling shot against the crossbar for Vics as they looked to extend their lead. Rokka then nearly succeeded in repeating his goal direct from a corner against Sporting Khalsa but Brown was equal to it and palmed the ball over the bar. From the resulting scorner, Luc Ferry headed into the side netting. 36 minutes in, and Vics should have increased their lead when Ferry beat his man and got to the byline and laid the ball back perfectly for Rokka but his first time strike struck the post and bounced out. Winsford then went straight down he other end, and had their best chance as O’Mara cut inside and played the ball to the far post where Johnson sliced the ball wide from 2 yards out!
A competitive first half with Vics having the edge and the better chances

HALF TIME : Northwich Vics 1 Winsford Utd 0

Another fast start for the second half for the Vics as a corner was swung in for Luc Ferry to head powerfully into the net to double the Vics’ lead. Things got even better in the 59th minute as the impressive Ferry broke free and fired in a shot which Brown parried out but the rebound fell to Mama Djabi who fired into the empty net from the edge of the area. Vics were comfortable now and were totally dominating the match playing some excellent football whilst Winsford were failing to make any impression on a resolute Vics’ defence with Mendes virtually redundant. Ryan Atkinson went close to making it four with his first touch after coming on he sliced wide as Vics saw the match out very comfortably indeed.

FULL TIME : Northwich Vics 3 Winsford Utd 0

An excellent all round team performance from the Vics where they were rarely troubled at the back ( the 13th clean sheet for Mendes and his defence) and clinical upfront with 3 well taken goals to send the Vics fans home very happy indeed.
