The match started cautiously, with plenty of the ball in midfield and little action upfront with neither keeper troubled until the 16th minute when Brad Lynch got though on goal but couldn't quite toe poke the ball past Aghayere in the '74 net. However in the 19th minute, Vics earned a free-kick just outside the '74 box which Aaron Burns struck fiercely towards goal. Aghayere could only parry the ball straight into the path of Brandon Barski who headed home gleefully. Vics extended their lead after 29 minutes as Joe Camozzi did well down the left and produced a peach of a cross and Henderson rose highest to beat Aghayere and head home. the rest of the half, saw Vics looking comfortable and containing 1874 well and restricting them to the odd corner .
HALF-TIME : Northwich Vics 2 1874 Northwich 0
the second half started dramatically with 2 quick goals. Firstly a long diagonal ball found Vics' Brad Lynch, who controlled the ball well and struck a sweet shot low past the keeper tp put Vics 3 up. However , straight from the kick off, 1874 went forward and Scott McGowan picked the ball up and struck an unstoppable shot from 30 yards out past Hale . 1874 were now pushing forward and forcing Vics to sit deeper. Mike Koral had an effort deflected wide after 52 minutes for '74 , whilst 2 minutes later, down the other end, Brad Lynch did well down the right and drove forward, before feeding the ball inside to Camozzi who fired well over . '74 were in the ascendency now, and in the 67th minute, Scott McGowan cut aside from the right and curled a shot from 20 yards past Hale into the top corner . 3 - 2 . Vics nearly extended their lead in the 72nd minute, as Henderson raced after a long ball and Aghayere in the '74 net rushed out of his box, and made a hash of collecting the ball, but luckily managed to just about clear the ball before Henderson could tap home. There was more than a hint of hand ball by the keeper as well ! In the 78th minute, Hale produced a world class save to tip a Harry Cain drive round the post for a corner. Vics were under pressure now, Kennerly struck the ball into the side netting when well placed , and then in the 87th minute, that man McGowan struck again with another great strike from the edge of the area into the bottom corner to earn '74 a point.
