Vics had the perfect response to last Sunday’s disappointing defeat against Yarm & Eaglescliffe in the FA Vase, with a 6 - 0 hammering of Dudley Town. This was the 3rd 6 goal win by the Vics and their 15th clean sheet of the season so far!

For a while it looked as though Dudley would frustrate Vics as Yarm did last weekend as Vics had the majority of the play and chances for the first 35 minutes or so without being able to take any of them.
Vics created the first chance in the 7th minute when Elliot Rokka was only denied by a superb diving save to his left from Cunneen in the Dudley net. Cookson was inches away from heading home a corner minutes later whilst Mama Djabi glanced a header wide of the post. Dudley's best chance of the half came in the 33rd minute when Olly Trigg went down the right and send a superb cross over which evaded Mendes in the Vics goal and Eddie Lake for Dudley was inches away from getting a vital touch to divert the ball into the net. This was Dudley’s best spell and two minutes later a Ryan Snape goal bound effort was diverted past the post by George Nugent. However this spell didnt last long and Vics responded with two corners in a row before in the 38th minute Mama Djabi was on hand to slam home from a Rokka low cross to give Vics the lead. Two minutes later, Joe Duckworth sent over a superb cross from the left for Djabi to expertly glance a header past Cunneen for his and Vics’ second to send Vics into the break with a two goal lead.

HALF TIME : Northwich Vics 2 Dudley Town 0

Vics started the second half where they had left off at the end of the first. Cookson headed just over the bar, then Rokka was played through but couldnt get enough on his shot to beat Cunneen. Rokka then fired a powerful free-kick which forced a great save from the keeper before Djabi was inches away from completing his hat-trick after 59 minutes but he couldnt quite stretch enough to convert Nugent’s excellent cross. Rokka and then Lloyd then both went close with efforts before Andre Mendes produced an absolutely top class acrobatic save to deny Millinchip’s audacious lob. A minute later, Luc Ferry raced onto a long ball down the right , pulled the ball back for Rokka to finish superbly. Three Nil , game over ! However Vics weren’t in the mood to settle for just the 3 goals today and 5 minutes later it was 4 as Taylor Kennerley weaved his way into the box from the left side and was promptly taken down . Up stepped Joe Duckworth to confidently convert the resultant penalty. It was all Vics, Bott stung the hands of Cunneen with a well hit strike from distance whilst Ryan Atkinson weaved his way past 3 defenders before his low shot was well saved. The icing was put on the cake by Will Lloyd firing a two minute salvo starting in the 82nd minute as he turned on a sixpence ( 2 and a half pence for the youngsters ) and slammed a shot in off the far post, then 2 minutes later being on hand to turn in a low cross from Atkinson for his second and Vics’ sixth goal. There was still time for Luc Ferry to have a goal disallowed for offside after he had slotted home a rebound from another Lloyd effort which Cunneen couldnt hold.
