Vics Abreu up a storm !

A match that Vics didn’t have be at their best to win comfortably as they ran out 3 nil winners with winger Jefferson Abreu getting a hat-trick.
Vics were on the front foot from the start as they pressed forward and took the lead in just the 11th minute as Sean Cooke swung in a corner from the left and Abreu was there to head home. Although Vics were having the majority of possession, they weren’t really testing Kieran Harrison in the Tividale net. Matt Harrison headed just wide from another corner whilst Cooke had a shot easily saved. A second goal should have come in the 37th minute as Harrison had a free header from another corner but it was well over the bar and Vics had to settle for an one goal cushion at half time with Tividale having rarely threatened.

HALF-TIME : Tividale 0 Northwich Vics 1

The second half followed the same pattern as the first with Vics being dominant with possession without really getting out of second gear. Indeed they went further ahead in the 51th minute as a long throw somehow went all the way across the box to the far post area for Abreu to have the simplest of chances to tap in. Ten minutes later, Abreu got his hat-trick as he picked the ball up outside the area, dribbled past 3 defenders into the box and fired a powerful effort into the net giving Harrison no chance. A fine goal indeed! Vics were in cruise control now and Abreu was desperately unlucky not to get a fourth just afterwards as he broke clear of the last man and sent a shot crashing against the right hand post. Vics dominance was such that Tividale didn’t really have a chance until the last minute as a free header was sent just over the bar as Vics saw the game out comfortably.

FULL-TIME : Tividale 0 Northwich Vics 3

Never at their best ( nor needing to be ) Vics will be happy with a clean sheet and three points with Jefferson Abreu claiming the match ball with a fine hat-trick.
