Vics recorded their second consecutive goalless draw on Saturday against a playoff hopeful team in what was a fairly entertaining match considering there were no goals.
Vics started off brightly doing most of the attacking with firstly Will Loyd and then Cory Knight just unable to covert half chances in the first ten minutes. Brocton’s first effort came in the 15th minute but a wild shot went well wide. The best move of the first half was when Looyd and Bevan Bury linked up well with Lloyd then turning his man and firing a low shot at goal which was well saved by Allsopp in the Brocton net. Burey then had another shot from the edge of the area well saved whilst Brocton’s best chance came in the 44th minute when they were allowed a free header from a corner but Prior saved easily.

Again Vics started the half brightly with Cory Knight had a flick header easily saved , and then he beat the offside trap but fired a half volley just wide of the post. In the 56th minute, Vics produced the move of the match as Sam Gill did well to play in Simba Nyamwansi down the right. He laid it onto Burey whose low cross was flicked to the onrushing Nyamwansi whose curled shot hit the left hand post and bounced away. As the match progressed though, Vics got a little scrappy as Brocton started to slowly dominate and Vics were indebted to a magnificent Joe Hurst tackle to deny Brocton a chance on goal in the 63rd minute. Zac Prior then produced a great save to stop a half volley that was fired in as Brocton continued to press, but it was Vics who should have grabbed a late goal in the 90th minute. A long ball was played into Lee Knight who did excellent to head the ball across for Matty Argent-Barnes who did everything right and wrong footed his man, but with just the keeper to beat, he blazed his shot over the bar.
