Vics started the match on the front foot, playing fast attacking football and pressing Casuals back. Marcus Perry nearly caught Kibrya in the Casuals net out with a cross cum shot in the 5th minute whilst 2 minutes later, Anton Smith found Callum Parker down the left who drove into the box and laid the ball across to Jack Coop whose shot forced a good low save from Kibrya. Vics weren't to be denied for long though as they played a short corner, before crossing the ball to the far post where Matty Clarke poked the ball forward for Mackenzie Faulkner to tap into the net. Vics were playing well and pushed for the second goal. Coop curled an effort just wide whilst a Perry cross was cleverly headed back across goal by Parker and Matty Clarke was inches away from turning the ball into the net. However Vics couldn't keep up their high pressing performance and Casuals were slowly getting back into the game after Vics were threatening to run rampant. However it wasn't until the 27th minute that Casuals forced Keir Barry into a save after a shot from distance. Callum Parker nearly doubled Vics lead with a low shot which was narrowly wide of the post in the 29th minute whilst Will Lloyd whistled a shot past the post . However Casuals were looking threatening more and more and eventually got an equaliser on the stroke of half time as Kam Smith dinked the ball into the Vics' net from a Farid Mikidam assist.
Half-time : Wolverhampton Casuals 1 Northwich Vics 1
Vics again started the second half quickly and spurned chance after chance. Jack Coop had three efforts in the first 5 minutes with the third being the best as Smith won the ball back, and slid Perry through who played Coop in but he placed his shot too near the keeper who diverted the ball wide. The deserved second goal came in the 52nd minute as Anton Smith did well on the right side of the area and dinked the ball across its the area, and the Casuals defender headed the ball past his own keeper under pressure fro Callum Parker. Casuals did force Barry into two good saves as they tried to get back into the match but Vics then stepped it up again with substitute Sam Unwin causing all sorts of problems down the right. In the 61st minute he chested down a cross and fired a half volley just wide when it looked every inch a goal...not sure how he missed !. A minute later, it was Unwin again who raced through in the right handed channel into the box but the ball bobbled just as he was about the strike the ball and the keeper easily collected the effort. Two minutes later , Unwin again galloped down the right wing, and slipped the ball back to Parker whose shot was well blocked. Unwin then struck the bar in the 72nd minute after he was sent through by a lovely chipped pass forward, whilst a couple of minutes later, Unwin, then Smith spurned good chances to increase the lead. Vics were made to pay for not taking their chances in the 83rd minute as Casuals grabbed an equaliser through Farid Mikidam as he bundled the ball home at the far post. Vics then immediately had a further couple of chances ,with the best one by Will Lloyd who had his shot well blocked. Vics weren't going to be denied though as Camozzi found acres of space down the right, drove into the area and laid the ball across to Unwin who couldn't miss. Casuals tried hard to come back but Vics comfortably held on for a deserved win .
Full-Time : Wolverhampton Casuals 2 Northwich Vics 3
A good win for the Vics, though they left it late and should have had the match sewn up well before they did, but overall a good performance.
