Vics stretched their unbeaten run to 9 games with this draw away at Chorlton. They again started well, and forced a corner in the 4th minute which was swung in by Chingwaro. WestDidsbury partially cleared but the ball was recycled out to Chingwaro again whose cross was perfect for Matt Dudley to head home his 22nd goal of the season so far. Foulds blazed over the bar for West shortly afterwards but Vics looked confortable with their lead. Indeed they went close to extending that lead in the 21st minute as Chingwaro escaped down the right channel again and crashed a right foot show against the post from 20 yards out. West Didsbury slowly started to come back into the game more as the half progressed, but Ryan Hamer was generally untroubled. Kirongozi did have a shot saved after a long ball forward in the 41st minute but Vics went into the break with a deserved lead.
HALF-TIME : West Didsbury & Chorlton 0 Northwich Vics 1
The second half started fairly openly with both teams trying to push forward . Vics had the ball in the net in the 48th minute but was rightly ruled out for offside. Again it was generally a midfield battle with West dominating possession but Vics' defence held firm comfortably whenever West tried to get the ball forward with Dunn and Russell harrying well in midfield never allowing West time. However this changed in the 73 rd minute when Russell made a rash high tackle on Westall which the referee ( surrounded by West players) decided deserved a red card. Vics were on the back foot now, and Hamer was forced into a top class save to tip a bullet header from a corner onto the bar and over in the 77th minute. West eventually got the equaliser 6 minutes later though as Elliott headed home from a Davis cross. West were piling on the pressure now going for the winner.Elliott went close again, then Dickenson had a volley saved by Hamer. Foulds tested Hamer with a header from a corner but Vics held out for a valuable point.
FULL-TIME : West Didsbury 1 Northwich Vics 1
A good point for the Vics, as they suffered from absent players , another hardworking determined display
