A third consecutive nil all draw for the Vics with both sides struggling with a hard bumpy pitch and cancelling each other out.
The match started slowly with both sides feeling each other out and the first chance didn’t arrive until the 16th minute as Beverley placed a free header straight at Mendes in the Vics’ net. Chances remained few , Beverley shot well wide in the 26th minute whilst for Vics, George Nugent’s first time shot was wide after being well set up by Duckworth. Vics pushed a bit more in the final few minutes of the half, and Duckworth was close to getting a touch to a great cross from Harvey Whyte, whilst Rokka hit a free-kick straight at the keeper.

HALF TIME : Beverley Town 0 Vics 0

Beverley upped their game at the start of the second half, and Mendes was forced into a great double save in the 51st minute to day them the opening goal. Three minutes later, Beverley fired a free kick that struck the top of the crossbar as Vics were struggling to get a foothold in this half. Will Lloyd did get a shot on target after turning his man well in the 61st minute and Max Sutton went close at the far post after a good period of play by Vics but generally it was Beverley doing most of the pressing but Vics’ defence were looking comfortable. Beverley then fizzed a shot just wide of the left hand post in the 77th minute whilst a minute later, Kieran Hamm for Vics did well to get through on goal but couldn’t quite get the angle on his shot as he fired wide of the near post. Another shot from Beverley whizzed past the post whilst Vics had the best move of the match in the 89th minute as they combined well down the left leading to Max Sutton getting in behind and pulling the ball back across goal but no one was there to turn the ball home.

A much of few chances and not much quality but Vics will be happy with another clean sheet and the chance to win the tie at their home ground on Wednesday evening.
