Well pre-season is over, and it's time for the Emirates FA CUP as Vics travel up to Burscough on Friday night to take on North West Counties Premier Division side Skelmersdale United there.
Skelmersdale were demoted from the Northern Premier League last season to due ground grading, and like Vics have had to virtually start afresh in terms of rebuilding a squad. They've had a mixed pre-season, losing at Ashton Town, Atherton LR, and Prestatyn whilst winning against Winstanley Warriors and Ashville.

DIRECTIONS :

M6 to J27 and take the A6209 Sp Parbold for approx 11 miles before turning right onto Back Lane. Continue onto Hollowford Lane, Carr Lane and then School Lane. At the roundabout , take 2nd exit on to A59 before quickly reaching Tesco s where you can park.

There is a pitch side bar at the ground, but The Bridge Inn is a short walk way, and where the post match proceedings are. There is a cafe serving hot food at the ground , just inside from the turnstiles.
