Northwich Victoria are thrilled to announce that industrious central midfielder Will Lloyd has committed his future to the Trickies by signing a one-year contract extension.

Since arriving at the U Lock It Stadium from Stone Old Alleynians on March 18th, 2024, Lloyd has established himself as an indispensable part of the Vics lineup. Over his 88 appearances for the club, he has chipped in with 10 crucial goals and established himself as a massive fan favourite - sweeping up the Supporters’ Player of the Year award twice, alongside two Players’ Player of the Year trophy.

Manager Lee Duckworth could not hide his delight at securing the midfielder's services for the upcoming campaign, noting that Lloyd turned down offers from higher divisions to remain with Northwich.

"Delighted to retain Will," Duckworth said. "He’s been excellent since we first came in and has really bought into everything we’ve asked him to do.

He’s turned down offers higher up the pyramid to stay here as he has a huge affinity with the club and the supporters. He was one of the first phone calls we made at the end of the season as he’s vital to what we want to do as we look to build on last season."

Speaking with Chairman Ian Egerton after putting pen to paper, the Vics’ midfield maestro expressed his gratitude to the fans and his excitement for what the future holds.

"Really happy to have signed a new contract and continue my journey with this club," Lloyd stated. "Since the moment I arrived, I’ve felt nothing but support from the fans, teammates and staff. I’ve loved every minute so far and I’m grateful for the trust shown in me.

There’s still so much more I want to achieve here and I’m looking forward to what’s ahead together."
