4 teams, 4 winners !

THIS WEEKEND'S PERFORMANCES :
Saturday 13th September
Northwich Victoria 2 Stourport Swifts 1 Midland Premier League
Vics stretched their winning run to 8 matches, but only just ! Stourport took the lead in the 30th minute after Vics lost the ball in midfield and Swifts broke quickly in a first half where Vics showed only a few glimpses of their quality. However they pressured Swifts throughout the second half, and it was one way traffic. It did however take until the 75th minute for the equaliser when Sam Deering was tripped in the area, Mama Djabi converted the resultant penalty. The Swifts keeper then made 3 brilliant saves as Vics kept up their bombardment and it was 3 minutes into injury time when Matty Clarke bundled the ball into the net after a goalmouth melee.

Trafford Reserves 3 Northwich Victoria Reserves 4 Cheshire League Div'n 2
The Reserves came out on top in a 7 goal thriller at Trafford, to keep up their unbeaten start in the League. Trafford took an early lead but 2 goals from Conor Hynes saw Vics go into half with a 2 - 1 advantage. The second half saw Trafford retake the lead with 2 early goals before a goal from Matt Smith made it 3 - 3 and the Vics snatched the win with a late Max Hatton strike. They now lie in 6th place in the league ( with matches in hand) with 14 points from their 6 matches.

Sunday 14th September
Northwich Victoria Vixens 4 Middlewich Town Ladies 2 CWYFL Premier
The Vixens started off their League campaign with a great win against Middlewich Town. In an exciting first half they took the lead in the 9th minute through striker Lily Wells after she was put through one on one and finished well. Middlewich then equalised before Caitlin McKendrick nicely finished off a low cross in the 30th minute. Middlewich again equalised after 36 minutes but Vics struck back immediately with Lily Wells just beat the keeper to the ball and tapped the ball home. The second half , with conditions worsening proved to be a quieter affair but the Vixens were in control and doing most of the pressing. The match was sealed in the 85th minute as Emily Aldridge rifled in a shot after Middlewich couldn't clear a cross into the box.
