As previously announced, Vics are holding a celebratory evening on Saturday 29th March at the Oaklands Hotel to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Club.
We are pleased to announce the first 3 of our Club legends who will be attending and talking about their time and experiences at the Club.

GRAHAM ABEL 1981-1985 and 1994-96

Graham has the distinction of being the only Vics’ player to have appeared in 3 FA Trophy Finals ( well 4 if you count the replay in 1984) . He first played for the Vics in 1981 and appeared in the 1983 and 1984 Trophy finals ( winning one, losing one) before leaving in 1985 to move to Chester where he made nearly 300 appearances before moving back to Vics in 1994 when he had the honour of appearing at Wembley for a 3rd time , albeit unfortunately a losing one against Macclesfield in 1996. In total Graham made 196 appearances and scored 20 goals for the Vics in his 2 spells at the Club.

2) JIMMY QUINN 2000 and 2001-2003

Jimmy has had an illustrious career as a footballer achieving nearly 600 football league appearances for various clubs including notably Swindon Town, Reading and West Ham United. He also achieved 46 international caps for his native Northern Ireland scoring 12 goals for them in that time.
Jimmy first joined Vics as a player in 2000 but only played 7 times ( scoring 4 goals) in that time but returned in 2001 for 2 years as Player/Manager making 46 appearances with 8 goals during this spell at the Club.

3) STEVE WILKES MANAGER 2017-2023

Steve has the distinction of being Vics’ longest serving post-war Manager lasting 6 seasons before he resigned at the end of the 2022/23 season. Steve had a playing career before it was cut short by injury before turning to management most notably at Padiham before being tempted by the Vics’ job. He quickly took Vics to the brink of Wembley in the 2018/19 season with a memorable FA Vase run which only ended in the Semi-Finals down at Chertsey Town when we lost on penalties.
