In an exciting opening day clash in the Cheshire League Division 2, Northwich Victoria Reserves came from behind to defeat Tytherington 5-2 at Moss Farm Leisure Complex.
The newly formed Northwich Vics Reserves started their competitive journey in the Cheshire Football League in thrilling fashion. The first half saw action at both ends, with Tytherington finding the net first but Vics Aaron Biddle replyed with two goals just before half time to ensure the home side held a 2-1 lead at the break.
In the second half, Tytherington equalized through a deflected free-kick, briefly pulling the score to 2-2. However, the Vics reserves rallied and captain Bailey Burke scored twice in quick succession for the Vics to lead 4-2 with his second goal coming from powering home a rebound after the Tytherington keeper spilled a cross. Connor Hynes then added a fifth late on to seal an excellent 5 - 2 victory.
This is a promising start for Northwich Victoria Reserves in the Cheshire League Division 2, indicating their potential to be competitive in the league.
