Northwich Victoria FC are thrilled to announce that Brazilian goalkeeper Andre Mendes has officially signed on for another season with the Vics!
Since arriving at the club last summer, Andre has established himself as a vital presence between the posts and a massive fan favorite. Retaining his services is a huge statement of intent as we look to build on last year’s campaign and push for promotion.
A Proven Winner with Elite Pedigree
Mendes brought a wealth of experience with him when he arrived at the Vics on July 16, 2025. Born in Brazil, Andre spent his formative years in Portugal, entering the prestigious Benfica academy at just 13 years old.
After moving to England, he progressed through the ranks at Morecambe, making his professional first-team debut in November 2021. Following successful stints at Colne, Ashton United, Lancaster City, Bury FC, FC United, and Ramsbottom United, he found a true home here at the Vics.
He made his club debut on August 3, 2025, against Campion AFC, and never looked back.

"An Excellent Goalkeeper" – Manager’s Reaction
First Team Manager Lee Duckworth couldn't hide his delight at securing his number one for the upcoming campaign:
"Andre came in last preseason and quickly established himself. He’s a big presence and an excellent goalkeeper with experience from higher up the pyramid. He gives confidence to those in front of him and will be a big asset this season."
"We Got Too Close To Not Have Another Go" – Andre’s Message to the Fans
After putting pen to paper, Andre expressed his hunger to finish what the squad started last year:
"I had an amazing time last season—the constant support from the fans and the togetherness from the group was great.
It was heartbreaking to not go up after letting the league title slip. We got way too close to not have another go. Looking forward to going again! ?"
We are absolutely delighted to have you staying with us, Andre. Let's go get what's ours!
