Max joined the Vics towards the end of last season and immediately caught the eye of the management team with a string of composed and energetic performances. Comfortable on either side of the defence, his versatility and attitude made an instant impression.

Sutton arrived at the club following spells with West Didsbury & Chorlton, and quickly adapted to life at the Vics—earning himself a place in the plans for the season ahead.

Speaking on his return, Max said:

"After Ducko and Luke had me in playing for the last three games last season, I was buzzing when they asked to have me back for preseason. I think they have made some good additions to the group and the standard at training has been very high so I’m looking forward to taking it into the pre season games and then into a successful season."

Joint Manager Lee Duckworth praised Max’s impact and potential:

"When Max came in last season he immediately looked at home. He went about his job quietly and you could tell he has all the aspects to develop and play higher up the pyramid. He’s aggressive and quick with the ability to join in play. I’m sure he will progress even further this year and develop into one of the best full backs at Step 5 – we look forward to helping him do so."
