Clarkey needs no introduction after almost a decade of representing the mighty Vics, playing in almost every position and even last year taking temporary charge of the team before Lee & Luke were appointed.

On re-signing the skipper had this to say “What can I say, I’m made up to be asked by Lee and Luke to come back for another season! Looking forward to what an exciting season could bring and hopefully achieving something special for this club.

I can’t wait to get started in pre season and to see what players are brought in to strengthen the squad in areas needed because with the right recruitment we can definitely achieve something this year as you could see at the back end of last season we started to show a playing style and identity.

So all I ask is that you continue your support get behind the lads let’s have a great year together. Up the trickies”

Co-manager Lee Duckworth “ Clarkey was one of the first people I spoke to when Luke and I took the job on. He’s Vics through and through so it was a no brainer for us to ask him to stay on board with what we’re trying to achieve this season. He keeps himself in shape and can operate in a number of positions to a high standard. I’m sure he’s excited at what this chapter brings for the club. To show his level of loyalty is extremely rare, so is something as a club we should celebrate and thank him for”
