Defender, Mikey Lawson is back for some more at Northwich Victoria.

Lawson Re-Signs: Young Defender Commits to Vics for Promotion Push
Northwich Victoria are delighted to announce that commanding young defender Mikey Lawson has committed his future to the club for the upcoming season!

Mikey’s journey with the Trickies began in August 2025 when he initially arrived on loan from Newcastle Town. Having quickly proved his quality and composure at the back, the club moved swiftly to secure his services on a permanent contract just a month later in late September.

A product of the Chester FC U18 academy system, Mikey has developed a reputation as a highly promising modern defender. To date, he has made 18 appearances in the green and white, with his last outing coming in the high-stakes derby clash against 1874 Northwich in April 2026.

After establishing himself as a vital component of the backline, Mikey enters the new campaign fully focused on helping the club secure silverware.

The Gaffer's View
First Team Manager Lee Duckworth highlighted Mikey's immense potential and his importance to the squad's defensive foundation:

"When we brought Mikey in last season it was obvious he had all the attributes to go in and progress in the game. It’s important now he gets regular game experience and builds on last season.

He’s quick, strong and comfortable on the ball, so I'm really looking forward to seeing his continued progression this season."

"We Have to Get Promotion Over the Line"
For Mikey, committing to the club was an easy choice, driven by a shared ambition with the management team and the Trickies fan base:

"Staying at Northwich Victoria was the right decision for me because I believe in what we’re building here. After coming so close, the aim is clear: we have to get promotion over the line this year and give the fans what they truly deserve.

"The support around the club is incredible and everyone involved shares the same ambition of taking Northwich Victoria back to where it belongs. I want to play my part in helping make that happen.

"Another big factor in my decision was Lee and the management team. The style of football they want us to play really suits my game and allows me to express myself, which is something that’s important to me as a player. I’m excited for the season ahead and can’t wait to get started again."

It’s fantastic to have Mikey locked in for the journey ahead. Look out for him marshaling the backline as our pre-season preparations continue!
