Club Statement: Max Sutton

Mark Tonge

A club statement with an update about Max Sutton.

Following last Saturday’s game, we can confirm that Max Sutton is currently in hospital receiving treatment for an internal injury sustained during the match.

Max’s condition has shown some positive signs over recent days, with his pain easing and his ability to rest improving. He remains under the care of the medical team, who are continuing to carry out investigations and assess the most appropriate course of treatment.

At this stage, surgery remains a possibility, but the medical team are taking their time to determine the best option for Max and will avoid surgery if it is considered safe and appropriate to treat the injury without it.

Max would like to thank everyone who has contacted him and sent messages of support. He is understandably keen to get back to doing what he loves, but his health and recovery are the priority.

As a club, we want to show Max just how much he means to everyone. Therefore, we will be holding a collection for Max at Saturday’s FA Cup game. We would encourage all supporters to get behind the collection and show Max the fantastic support that our club is known for.

We will continue to support Max throughout his recovery and will provide further updates when appropriate.

Everyone at the club wishes Max a full and speedy recovery. We look forward to seeing him back with his teammates when the time is right.
