GOALS - Vics : Brownhill 11' Winder 85"
Gate : Seear 39"

A match that Vics always looked the most likely to win though they were made to wait by a stubborn Squires Gate team.
Vics started well and after just 3 minutes , good work down the right by Matty Clarke, led to the ball being played across to Darrhyl Mason on the far left of the box who laid the ball into the path of Joel Brownhill , but his shot was high of the goal. Squires gate's first chance came after 9 minutes when they were awarded a free kick 25 yards out but their effort was similar to Vics' earlier, high and not very handsome. Vics continued to press and took the lead a couple of minutes later, when Matthew's persistence down the left won the ball, and laid the ball bak to Mason who cut inside and fired a shot which Povey in the Gate goal, could only push out to Joel Brownhill who smashed the ball home from 4 yards. The match then settled down, with few chances being created until the 31st minute when a long ball from Joe Camozzi found Brian Matthews but his attempted lob over the onrushing Povey was off target. Squires Gate then equalised , somewhat out of the blue, when a long throw caught out Vics rearguard and Richard Seear was onto it in a flash, and promptly lobbed the ball into the net from 25 yards over a stranded Danny Taberner.
HALF-TIME : Vics 1 Squires Gate 1

The second half was quieter , but with Vics doing most of the pressing, and Squires Gate relying on the odd breakaway attack. Vics went close after 55 minutes, when Joel Brownhill's cross was flicked on by Dominic Craig to the back post where Darrhyl Mason couldn't quite find the finish to trouble the Gate keeper. Squires Gate came close after 59 minutes, when a goalmouth scramble forced Jack Fleming to clear the ball from the goal-line over his own bar to safety. Vics continued to look the most likely however, and after 70 minutes, Jack Fleming cleverly beat his man down the left wing, and fed substitute Paul Ennis, but his rushed shot was easily cleared. Vics finally got the goal they deserved after 85 minutes, when a cross was only headed out to Ryan Winder about 30 yards's out, who strode forward 5 yards side footing one opponent, and hit a rocket which flew past Povey. Great strike . Vics then comfortably managed the game out to full time .
