Vics dominated this match from start to finish and ran out comfortable winners in their bid to keep in touch at the top end of the league table. However , they did have an early blow when centre back Kieron Kenny had to go off in a daze after suffering a clash of heads after just 7 minutes and was replaced by young Bolton Wanderers loanee Jordan Boon. This didn't deter Vics though, and after 14 minutes, Camozzi received the ball on the right, and delivered an inviting cross for Robert Doran to powerfully head home to the delight of the Vics contingent behind the goal. Irlam were then denied when they got in behind the Vics defence but Boon recovered well to nip in and put the ball out for a corner. Vics extended their lead after 30 mins when a shot from Joel Brownhill was only parried out and Billy Whittle was there to fire into the net albeit with the aid of a deflection. A couple of minutes later, Doran nearly extended the lead when his volley went just wide of the post after he was set up after some good skill by Jordan Boon. Vics were close to gaining a penalty after a foul on Matthews , but Irlam were saved by the linesman's flag for offside. Irlam had their best chance to get one back right on half time when Pollitt was left free at the far post but he just failed to get enough on the ball to turn it into the net

HALF-TIME - Irlam 0-2 Vics

The second half started the same way as the first half went, with Vics in control, and just 3 minutes in, a superb through ball by Matty Clarke left Rob Doran free ,and he easily rounded the keeper and slipped the ball into the open net. Vics were now content to keep possession and control the play without creating too many chances. Joel Brownhill was close to turning in Brian Matthews' fired cross after 57 minutes, but the 4th goal didn't arrive until the 83rd minute. Again it was Rob Doran, who used his strength in winning the ball from the Irlam defender , and then calmly chipped the ball over the fast approaching keeper into the back of the net. The last action of the game, saw Vics nearly get a fifth, when delightful cross by the hard working Joel Brownhill was cleverly flicked goal wards by substitute Jordan Darr but it hit the bar and bounced into the keeper's hands.

FULL TIME - Irlam 0 - 4 Vics

Vics’ M.O.M - Robert Doran for his outstanding hat-trick , but this was really an all round team effort with everyone contributing. Special word of mention for young centre back Jordan Boon who showed maturity beyond his years when he came on after just 7 minutes.

Up next for Vics’ is an HOME league game Vs IBarnoldswick Town on SUNDAY 30th DECEMBERwith an earlier than usual kick-off time of 1.30pm
