Striker Aaron Burns returns to Vics after 10 year gap

Northwich Victoria are delighted to announce the second signing of prolific non-league hit-man Aaron Burns from EvoStik Club Droylsden F.C after a ten year hiatus.

A scorer so far of a hugely impressive 213 goals in his career to date, Aaron will be looking to swell that total even further as the Vics’ look to kick on towards a promotion push in an otherwise in-different start to the season so far.

Aaron came through the youth system at Manchester United and in his youth cup team were players such as Gerard Pique, Giuseppe Rossi , Danny Simpson, Frazier Campbell, Johnny Evans, Ryan Shawcross and Darren Gibson to name a few.

JD : "Welcome back to the Vics, Aaron, feel good to be back after a decade away?"
AB : " Thanks Jamie, it feels good to be back, I am often very methodical in my planning regarding football and moves, but I didn't see this coming ! It feels like this was potentially written as I started my non-league career here many moons ago. "
JD : How did the move come about? "
AB : In all fairness, the manager and I have been keeping in contact for a while and he has really sold the project to me. He and I, feel that I can add experience and goals to the campaign, and hopefully end the season exactly where this club needs to be."
JD : "All being well, you should make your second debut this Saturday ( Skelmersdale Away)- the team hasn't really got going so far, but it's still not too late for a promotion push bearing in mind there are three spots up for grabs "
AB : As I alluded to in my last statement, promotion is the aim for this special club. We have enough games left to put a run together, and really get that charge for promotion moving. I and everyone I have spoken to so far, believe it is achievable, and we will do our best to succeed"
Vics' boss Steve Wilkes was cock-a-hoop with Aaron's signing. He said " I'm so pleased to finally land Aaron. I've been chasing him for a month now. I know the club will welcome him back with open arms and I can't wait to hear the Aaron Burns chant on the terraces. We've signed a truly experienced player who will hopefully score plenty of goals , which is Aaron's forte "
