A very bad night for the Vics

COMPETITION : Midland League Premier

GOALS - Vics : Lynch 82'
Stone OA : Askey 3', Tomlinson 11', 79' (Pen), Wilson 72'

A first 15 minutes for Vics to forget ! The game had barely started when Reid was forced into a save from Wilson, the ball rebounded straight to Bowater who put the ball into the net. However the flag for offside was raised and the goal ruled out somewhat harshly in most people's opinion too. However Stone didn't have to wait long for the opener as 2 minutes later as a corner was played short, then crossed into the box where Askey headed home. It got worse for Vics in the 11th minute as a free kick was cleared only to Tomlinson on the edge of the area who curled a shot into the back of the net. A dreadful first 15 mins for the Vics and it wasn't until the 26th minute that they had their first shot in anger as Callum Parker did well down the right, cut in and fired a shot well over the bar. Stone were still much the better side, though Vics could have pulled one back in the 35th minute as Sam Unwin escaped down the left and fizzed a low cross across the box but no Vics' player was there to tap home. Stone kept pressing forward and Vics were pleased to keep the score to just the 2 goal deficit at the break

HALF-TIME : Northwich Vics 0 Stone Old Alleynians 2

Vics came out strongly as the second half started with substitute Christoph Aziamale doing well to slide a lovely ball across goal but Stone were able to clear their lines. The next minute, Max Chimenes was sent clean through on goal but Gill in the Stone net did well to deny him. Vics were having more of the ball than in the first half but unable to do much with it as Stone comfortably coped with their attacks. However Vics were undone again in the 72nd minute as Reid came for a corner but failed to get it and Sam Wilson couldn't miss ! A few minutes later , it was the same player, Wilson who was one on one with keeper Adam Reid who brought him down, Penalty ! Tomlinson calmly sent Reid the wrong way to make it 4 for Stone. Vics did get a consolation goal in the 81st minute as a lovely ball found Sam Lynch free on the left side of the box and he cooly slotted the ball past Gill.
