An even first half with both teams playing the ball around well but without troubling the keepers too much.
Callum Parker hit the side netting after 4 minutes with a shot from just inside the area whilst shortly afterwards, Cheadle went close twice. Firstly Ben Wharton tapped home from close range but was ruled offside, then it was Wharton again , this time with a header which Reid did well to palm away for a corner. Parker for Vics headed just wide from a corner with quarter of an hour gone, then debutant Hensley Mills forced Town keeper Jordon Lathom to push a well struck shot around the post from 12 yards. The match had settled into a quiet phase now, with both teams content with passing the ball around nicely but with little effect and the only chance of note came in the last minute of the half as Mills stole in at the back post to knock a good cross in just the wrong side of the post.

HALF-TIME : Northwich Vics 0 Cheadle T 0

Callum Parker threatened to open the scoring in the 54th minute as he half vollied a shot straight at Lathom in the Town net. Vics then forced a corner in the 57th minute, but Cheadle cleared the ball and broke quickly upfield, with Sutton feeding Parkinson who went through one on one and calmly finished, slotting the ball past Reid. An excellent counter attack! Cheadle then took control of the game and scored a second ten minutes later as a corner was only cleared to the edge of the area, and Danny Hewitt fired a shot into the bottom corner. This livened Vics up a bit and they grabbed a goal back in the 75th minute as a cross was headed back across goal for Sam Unwin to acrobatically volley the ball into the back of the net. However Town killed the match off in the 86th minute as Da Silva found Parkinson in the area who finished nicely. Vics kept fighting though, and thought they had pulled one back as a corner was headed goalwards and appeared to be well over the line to everyone except the referee and liner !
