Northwich Victoria are proud to have won the Adam Swanwick Memorial Trophy after a 2 - 1 win against Garstang FC at their Riverside ground on Saturday. Vics took the lead in the first half when a corner somehow dropped at the feet of Rob Doran in the middle of the six yard box and he poked the ball home. They extended their lead halfway through the second half when Liam Bickett curled a shot into the top corner from 20 yards out. Garstang pulled a goal back as their number 9 placed a right foot shot past Ryan Neild with 7 minutes to go.

The Trophy is competed for annually in the memory of Garstang's Adam Swanwick who passed away 6 years ago aged just 28 after suffering a heart attack. Adam's family have founded " The Adam Appeal " which exists to raise awareness of cardiac risk in young people and to provide training and defibrillators in public places throughout the NW of England. More details can be found at their website http://theadamappeal.co.uk

Thanks to all at Garstang FC for their great hospitality and friendliness in hosting us and we wish them well as they start off life in the Hallmark Security Football league.
