Summary of Monday nights open meeting

Welcome.
Introduction of the Board.
Apologies .

Brief summary of the 2016-17 season.

First our thanks to Witton Albion for allowing us to play at their stadium. Playing in the Evostik South had it’s issues from get players willing to sign because of the amount travelling involved, to hiring coaches and poor gates.
From early on in the season the club was run by the supporters association, then In December the club was put into administration, the club continued to be run by the supporters. In March we agreed terms with Barnton FC to play at their stadium and carried out work to their ground to achieve level 5 ground status, sadly our performance on the field meant we finished bottom and thus relegated.

Purchasing the Club from Administrator.

From the time the club was placed into administration in December we started to pay various creditors on a monthly payment plan, even in the knowledge that someone could come in to purchase the club.
We sought legal advice to purchase the club and worked within the rules set out by both the League and FA. We have also sought advice from Supporter Direct on the club becoming a community based club.
Key to the purchase was the fact that all creditors must be paid in full, that’s football and none football creditors in this case by 14th June and prior to the league AGM. On the 12th June at a supporters meeting we raised £11,000 given we were short of the required amount, we approached JustGiving to raise the balance. Thanks to the generosity of people in the UK and Abroad we had raised the balance, except you cannot access the money till the end of the month. Our saviour came from a retired supporter who had already donated but offered us a bridging loan, till such time as the money came through. Late Friday 16th June it was finally confirmed that we has taken over the club.

Going Forward

On Saturday 17th June we were accepted into the North West Counties League Premier Division. We are still working with Supporters Direct towards a community based club and hope to achieve that status prior to the start of the season. Paul Moore (manager) talked about the squad and how he sees the club going forward, he also mentioned this is a tough league to be in.
We are changing our home strip this season to a new design, still green/white shirts, with green shorts and green socks.

Key to everything now is moving to a community based club and building bridges with both the local community and businesses in and around Northwich.
