This weekend, Vics take on Maltby Main on SUNDAY 16th September in the 2nd Round Qualifying of the FA Vase at Wincham Park. Maltby Main are in the Northern Counties East League , and are currently top after a 1-0 win at Athersley Recreation on Wednesday evening. Maltby crushed Ashton Athletic 5 - 1 in the previous round of the Vase, and also managed an excellent win against Runcorn Linnets in the FA Cup before losing to Frickley Athetic in the last round.

Vics are currently on a run of 4 games unbeaten after a mixed start to the season, and the last two matches have both been 3 - 1 home wins against Abbey Hey and Hanley Town. Last season's leading scorer, Brian Matthews will be looking to continue his run of 2 goals in 2 games since his return from injury.

Plenty of free parking is available at the ground, and gates will open 1.30pm. Hot food ( Pies, Pasties, Chips , Hot Dogs) and other refreshments all available in the tea hut on the far side of the ground whilst Witton's bar will be open from 1.00pm. Please note that there is no entry to the bar once in the ground BEFORE the match . Entry to the ground is by the turnstiles at the car park end.
