Vics' have appointed legendary Goal-keeper Dave Ryan 59, as head of goalkeeping of the first team. Dave made nearly 800 appearances in Green and White, was player of the year three years on the trot in 1984, 1985 & 1986. Also an F.A Trophy winner in 1984 & runner-up in 1983; amongst many other domestic cup final triumphs. Dave coached the academy at Manchester United and discovered current Burnley & England goalkeeper Tom Heaton amongst others.
Dave will begin his role on Thursday 16th November at training.
His first game will take in the tough North West Counties Premier Division away assignment at Runcorn Linnets on Sat 18th Nov (15:00 K.O)

A fantastic move to bring Dave on board Steve, he's a cult hero amongst the fans whilst bringing a wealth of experience from his playing days & coaching the academy for 27 years at Manchester United, bringing through the now Burnley & England keeper' Tom Heaton amongst others.

The appointment of Dave Ryan as our goalkeeping coach is a massive coup for the football club. The knowledge and experience that Dave has can only be beneficial for the goalkeepers at the club. To have someone who's coached the goalkeepers at Manchester Utd and someone who's run the school of excellence at United can only be good for everyone involved at Northwich Victoria and I for one can't wait to see him working with my goalkeepers. Welcome back to the Vics', Dave. Fantastic for the fans and returning to the Club where you enjoyed huge success. Good to be back then?

Thanks Jamie, yes its brilliant to be back at the Vics' in a coaching capacity. I have spent a few years out of football since leaving Manchester United , mainly spent looking after my young son.
I just wanted to return to a game that has been my whole working life, and VICS' has always been a big part of that. The chance to help the club return to its former glories was a motivating factor and hopefully I can support the new management team who have started so well and impressed me.
Knees permitting, it should be an enjoyable period
